Shy and wondering how to meet people in a comfortable setting?
Are you single and looking for a healthy relationship?
Every month, on the last Friday evening of the month, we get together to talk over the single life
and discuss skills and strategies for sane dating and relationships.
We're taking a break for the summer, but will be meeting again on September 26th!
Here's the format of the event:
We start the evening with an ice-breaker activity to give you a chance to get to know each other and get comfortable.
There's sometimes a presentation by one of our team, or a guest speaker, and we have discussion time built in. You'll
get valuable information to make dating easier and more fun, like:
- initiating conversations
- how to be gracious and approachable with "small talk"
- refusal skills- saying no, nicely
- reading body language
- pacing yourself with dating, and dealing with burnout and discouragement
- where to go on a date
- how to stop choosing the wrong partner and what to look for in Mr./Ms. Right
We meet at the 1235 Creative Center, at 1235 SE Division, Portland, Oregon. The event happens from 7:00-8:30 pm,
and the fee is $10 for the evening. You're welcome to get in touch with us if you have questions or just wonder
if the event is right for you. We usually get a good-sized group with a pretty even balance of men and women.
Everyone is welcome, and it's a community event so there's no obligation to attend regularly, you can just come by
and visit once if you like.
We do encourage you to try to arrive on time, so you can participate in the opening activity.
This is a Community Program of Portland Counseling Center, (although it is not counseling!)
